What does it take to win a stage of the Tour de France? We join superstar sprinter Jasper Philipsen (Alpecin-Deceuninck) in training as he prepares for the 2025 race, hoping to add to his nine stage wins. For the Belgian, winning a sprint of the Tour means ‘playing the game’, whether that’s knowing where your rivals are, putting them on your wheel, staying calm in the chaos, or being aggressive to hold your ground. As Jasper says, everyone plays the game, so if you don’t do it, you won’t be first across the line.
